Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the No.1 lip balm anymore This is not the No.1 lip balm anymore. It is definitely not the lip balm I have used for years. I notice in this description that it’s saying this is the same thing from 1969 - this isn’t true! The previous lip balm with petroleum kept my lips moist and in good condition. It was more expensive than other lip balms on the market but was the only one where my lips were never chapped or dry. I am so disappointed with the ingredient change. I am constantly re-applying throughout the day. Who has the time? I read the comments from Kiehls about petroleum - petroleum is a by-product of oil. It is the part that is not used when oil is being produced. The self-righteousness and double-standards about this is amazing to me. As long as people are driving, using aircraft or ships and countless other machines that use oil, petroleum is going to be produced as a ‘by-product’ - it is already there. PEG-pentaerythritol ether which is in the new formula is derived from petroleum and is also non-biodegradable. The previous formula (the one I used for years right up until this change) was the best. Please bring it back. If not, call this a different name as it is confusing and a bit tricksy and make a much better lip balm that does not make my lips drier than what they were and is worthy of the price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nothing special Hmm I would say nothing too special. I didn't notice any difference between this product or other cheaper option by other brands. It's not bad, it's just maybe not worth paying the extra for.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lip balm formula has changed Used the lip balm for years - always have multiple tubes on the go, by the bed, in the car, my bag & desk at work. The new formula is thinner & gritty - completely unusable. Can't tell you how disappointed I am as three tubes have gone in the bin & now I will have to find a new brand.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Quite drying I love kiehls, but this product is disappointing. It doesn't hydrate and I actually find it drying instead.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Work in progress, short term glazing only Not very moisturizing on my dry lips. It creates a layer of oily film on top but does not hydrates. As soon as it disappears my lips go back to dry and flakey again. Kiehl, could you please create Midnight recovery lip balm or borrow some of the ingredients please? And a flip-lid would be wonderful!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Soft lips from a little tube This is a really effective lip balm from what I've always viewed as skincare-friendly brand. I know balms can be formulated in different ways. This one is more like a gel in a tube. One of the ingredients I like most for the lips is squalane, which this contains. My only tiny complaint is that although I don't have to use much on application (I actually squeeze a tiny bit on to my little finger rather than straight on the lips), it doesn't last as long as I would like it to. Having said this, I do feel that it really keeps my dehydrated lips soft.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I did expect better product from Kiehls I did expect better product from Kiehls. Product is drying very quick on lips and it is not easy to apply on lips. I will not buy again
